Announcing New Partnership and Session 3 Registration
We have an exciting announcement! Effective now with Session 3 registration, the Northfield Skating School will be partnering with the Northfield Public Schools Community Services Division. NSS will continue to offer the same high quality skating programs, U.S. Figure Skating curriculum, professional staff, and parent meetings. However, registration will now be handled directly through Community Services instead of through NSS staff.
Under the Community Services umbrella, we will be able to offer classes at a slightly lower cost and to promote our programs more widely throughout the community. Skaters will also be able to register online with a credit card – no more sending checks to the NSS post office box! Be on the lookout for the Community Services brochure in your mail box next week.
Session 3 registration will be open tomorrow, Friday, December 17, 2010 – Wed, January 18, 2010. Classes begin January 30th. Skaters may register online, by mail, by phone, or in person at the Northfield Community Resource Center, similar to other Community Services classes. Online registration closes after January 18th. Registrations after this date are subject to a $15 late fee per skater and will be accepted only as space permits.
Class information and program updates will still be available on this website.
To register online please visit: Northfield Community Services Skaters do not need to live within the Northfield School District to participate in skating classes. Everyone is welcome.
Erin Mayberry is our new contact at Community Services. Please contact her at Erin.Mayberry@nfld.k12.mn.us or (507) 664-3502 with your program and registration questions.
We look forward to our new partnership and skating with you in the New Year!
When: Sunday Dec 19, 10:45am – 12:15pm
Congratulations to Elizabeth Penny and Emmalyn Fried for passing their first U.S. Figure Skating tests last week! Both skaters tested at the Bloomington Ice Garden and passed their Pre-Preliminary Moves-in-the-Field. Elizabeth also tested and passed her Pre-Preliminary Freeskate test. Both skaters train with Carey Tinkelenberg at the Northfield Arena and the St. Paul Figure Skating Club and are preparing routines for the upcoming competitive season.
